Pat moved to Harney County in 1977 with husband Monte, daughter Bryn, and sons Mark, Chris, Clint and Mitch. She was injured in a horse accident in 1987.

She has enjoyed raising a family in the high desert country of Oregon and remarks her favorite things about the area are the people and the landscape.

"The 'realness' is what has made an impression," notes Pat. "There is nothing fake here, not in the individuals or the scenery."
